Did you know that as a member of The Bulwell Academy community, parents/carers and students have full free access to The Day?
The Day is a daily newspaper aimed at students, covering a wide range of abilities and interests with up-to-date news. Here are just some of the resources available through The Day:
While in school, students can log in to The Day through the Student Portal, clicking on this tile from the homepage:
Students can access the Portal from home as well, by following this link https://www.bulwellacademy.org.uk/main/students-2 and clicking ‘Sign in to the CET Portal’.
Direct links will also be sent out to parents and carers throughout the academic year, allowing you to see what articles students have access to. If you have any questions about The Day or are struggling to access it using the above methods, please contact Mr Hunt at joel.hunt@bulwellacademy.org.uk
Every month we select a particularly relevant article to share on our website and on screens around school. This month’s article can be found here: Junk food is half cost of a good diet – The Day – please select the relevant reading level.
We would also like to encourage students to take part in The Day’s Student Voices weekly competition. As part of this competition, students are invited to write an article (or film a speech) on a topic they feel passionate about. Successful entries will be published on TheDay.co.uk and entered into the Young Journalist Competition in July 2025.
