A common question from Year 11 students is: “What options should I take in Sixth Form or college?” Well, with over 30,000 courses listed on UCAS (the centralised university admissions facility), it’s impossible to know the entry requirements for each one! However, choosing the right courses can be critical for some career paths and it’s important to not unintentionally close off paths that you may wish to pursue later on in your career.
To find out more, come along to our Open Evening usually held in November each year. For information on courses at The Bulwell Academy, please visit our Sixth Form page.
What if The Bulwell Academy doesn’t offer me the course of study that I want to do?
Have a look at the courses offered by the different colleges and Sixth Forms in the Nottingham area. You need to consider which courses will help you achieve your ideal career or what you think may be helpful to you in the future. It is also important that you enjoy the subjects you choose to promote self-motivation and make higher education both useful and interesting for you.
For help on choosing the right course, please see a member of the Careers Team.
