Student voice and student leadership is really important to our school community. It brings a sense of belonging and ownership. The Bulwell Academy belongs to our students and their voice will continue to support us in bringing about positive changes.

How can I get involved?
At The Bulwell Academy there are over 200 student opportunities including pastoral leaders and subject ambassadors. We will be adding links to the Job Descriptions for each of the roles below in the near future. Figures in January 2025 are below:

How can I become a Student Leader?
In the summer term of every year, we elect new student leaders, following a rigorous application process including putting together campaign videos and speeches, a whole school vote and, finally, being interviewed by a staff panel.
Our Head Prefects lead a team of Deputy Head Prefects and Year Group Student Council Leaders who meet every half term.
Who are the current Student Leaders?
Our school community can easily recognise our Prefects who wear black blazers to make them stand out from everyone else. Students can find them at break, have a conversation about our school, give them their feedback and their ideas, and let their voices be heard!
