The School Day

The Bulwell Academy provides a compulsory school week of 31 hours 40 minutes as follows:

Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 2.50pm
8.30am is the official start of the school day.
2.50pm is the official end of the school day

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order for students to start their school day on time, the Academy expects students to arrive before the school gate is closed at 8.20am. This provides sufficient time for students to assemble correctly in their “line-up” position for 8.25am, ready for moving to assembly or classrooms for a prompt start at 8.30am.

The school gate opens at 8.00am and a free breakfast is available from the restaurant and catering pods for all children. 8.00am to 8.20am is additional social time for children to spend with their friends, eating their breakfast or catching up with their Director of Achievement and other members of staff.

Your child is expected to attend the Academy every day, on time, arriving no later than 8.20am. If they arrive after morning registration has closed, they will be marked using the code U (an absence code). Being late to school will impact on their overall attendance as a U code counts as one session missed. Click here to find out more about absence from school.
