At The Bulwell Academy, we use ParentPay for online payments for school meals, snacks, trips and other items. Students are also welcome to bring a packed lunch and snacks from home if they prefer.
ParentPay enables you to pay securely online for school meals, trips and other items. For details about the Academy’s cashless system, please see the Useful Links below.
You will receive your invitation to register for ParentPay when your child begins at the Academy. For new Year 7 students starting in September, you will receive your activation codes during the summer break.
Parents/carers need to ensure their child’s lunch account is topped up so it remains in credit (Low Balance Alert can be set in ParentPay under Communications – Alert Settings).
Breakfast Club is available to all students between 8am and 8.20am in the Restaurant, and includes free toast and juice for all students. Hot chocolate is also served on colder days.
A snack menu is available during Morning Break. This is not included in the Free School Meal Allowance. If your child is in receipt of Free School Meals, please ensure you top up your child’s catering account on ParentPay in order to pay for snacks at break. Students may also bring their own snacks from home.
Students may bring a packed lunch from home or can choose from a variety of hot meals, baguettes and sandwiches from the Restaurant. The new menu for September 2023, which operates on a three-week cycle, can be viewed by clicking on the red button below. The Price List is also available below.
In addition to the menu below, there is also a choice of jacket potato on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and pasta pots on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Catering at The Bulwell Academy is provided by Aspens Services.

Each child in receipt of Free School Meals is currently entitled to shopping vouchers during the holidays. Morrisons vouchers were issued for the summer holidays 2023 to the value of £50 per child. These were made available for collection from the Academy on Tuesday 1 August (9am to 3pm) and Wednesday 2 August (9am to 2pm). Any vouchers that were not collected on these dates have been posted to your home address on our system.

If your child is starting Year 7 in September and is currently in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM), Pupil Benefits will notify the Academy so that your child’s Free School Meal Allowance is in place for their first day.
We use Biometric ID (finger ID) scanning to link students to their payment accounts. Students scan their finger at the till to deduct monies from their account.
Parent/carer consent for use of your child’s Biometric Information will be requested prior to starting at The Bulwell Academy. Please read the Guidance document below for further information.
