Exciting Times for Bulwell
Over the course of the past few months, we have been increasingly recognised for the significant improvements made across the school.
You may remember we recently featured in the Nottingham Post as the ‘most improved school in Nottinghamshire’ (Fairer Schools Index).
Recognition like this is indeed something for everyone involved in the Academy—the parents, the children, and our fantastic staff team—to be proud of. I am excited to share two further articles with you, providing further recognition, both published last week.

We are proud to have appeared in the Times Educational Supplement (TES), giving The Bulwell Academy national recognition for the positive difference the school is making to our young people, by keeping them in school, in their lessons and learning. Many of our pupils in Year 9 have been engaging in a ‘Safer Streets Project’ working alongside the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioners’ Office. This is a very prestigious opportunity for Year 9 and one that has grown their confidence and their leadership skills. It has been an opportunity to build positive relationships with the police whilst discussing their experiences of what it is like to live in Bulwell as a young person in relation to crime and anti-social behaviour.
We must continue to expose our children to opportunities because when we do, they fly!
We are proud to have been part of this as a school and also on behalf of the Bulwell community.
These really are exciting times at The Bulwell Academy.

Lastly, I want to remind you all of the opportunity to join the conversation about The Bulwell Academy, as we continue to implement positive changes and affirm our commitment to being an excellent school at the heart of the Bulwell community.
This will be my first Parent Forum as the new Principal at The Bulwell Academy, following my recent appointment. I am looking forward to meeting with you.
