Our School Calendar page provides a list of key dates and events for the term as well as the term dates for the current year and the following year.
You will need to notify the Academy on the morning of each day your child misses school. Calls should be made before 8.30am if possible. Your message should be left on the answering service by pressing option 1. After 8.30am, please ask to speak with the Attendance Officer.
If your child has an injury or requires special medical assistance when they return to school, please telephone or email the Academy’s SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) to discuss your child’s mobility needs. For example, if they need crutches to help them to walk, we will need to make special arrangements for them to move around the academy. We are required to complete a risk assessment to ensure the safety of your child on site and we can only do this if you let us know in advance of their return to school. Thank you for your help with this.
Holidays during term-time will not be authorised unless there are exceptional circumstances. Applications for absence should be made in writing to Mrs S Albery, Attendance & Safeguarding Manager.
For more details about the importance of attendance and the consequences of missing school, please click on the Nottingham City Council website links below:
Where possible, routine doctor and dental appointments for students should be made outside school hours. If a student has an orthodontist or paediatrician appointment to attend within school hours, the Attendance Officer will require evidence of the appointment, ie, a copy of the appointment letter.
If any of your contact details change, please keep the General Office informed. You can use the Student Data Entry Form (available from our Reception) or you can contact us by phone or email. It is important that you keep your contact details up to date so that we are able to contact you in the case of an emergency or to discuss your child’s progress.
If you have concerns regarding your child or wish to pass on important information regarding your child, the best person to contact is your child’s Year Manager. You can do this by calling the Academy’s switchboard or via email to the relevant Year Manager (see below).
