HPV vaccine for Year 8 and 9: important notice

On Tuesday 25 February – as part of the School Immunisation Service – NHS nurses will be administering the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to Year 9 girls (2nd dose) and to Year 8 girls and boys (first dose). This is the first year that the HPV vaccine has been offered to boys in Year 8.

Having the HPV vaccine helps protect both boys and girls from HPV related cancers – please read the leaflet and parent letter in the links below for more information.

Year 8 Parents and Carers: Please click on the link below to complete the online consent form. By completing the form, your child will receive two doses of the vaccine which are given in school between 6 and 24 months apart.

Year 9 Parents and Carers: You will have been asked for consent for the HPV vaccine when your daughter was in Year 8. Therefore, there is no need for you to complete the online consent form. If for any reason, there is no record of your parental consent, you will be contacted separately.

Queries: Please contact Miss Lola Henry at The Bulwell Academy in the first instance.

The School Code for the Online Consent Form is NG145952
