We will be joined by over 25 local employers and careers specialists to tell you about a range of career opportunities to include apprenticeships, college, university and employment opportunities.
Parents’ Evening: Year 10 & Sixth Form
Parents of Year 10 & Sixth Form students are also invited on Thursday to meet with subject teachers to discuss your child’s recent progress and attitude to learning within the Academy.
The evening will be run on an appointment-based system with 5 minutes allocated for each appointment with subject teachers. Your child has been given an appointment card to fill ready for the evening. Please allow time to visit the Careers Fair too.

YOUR VOICE COUNTS
Would you like to have your say in how the Academy operates? We would like to recruit parents/carers from each Year Group to work with us to give input to new ideas and projects, and to share your ‘parent insight’ to inform the Academy’s leadership.
The Parents’ Advisory Group (PAG) is led by the Academy’s Principal, Mrs Strong, and supported by the Academy’s Community Lead, Mrs Abbott. The group meets three times per year. If you are interested in joining the PAG, please contact the Principal’s PA, Mrs Sadler.
To express your interest to join the PAG, please complete the form below and return to the Academy by Monday 2 March 2020. Parents invited to join the PAG will be notified by Friday 6 March 2020.
The Spring Extra Curricular Timetable is now available. It includes after-school activities, lunchtime activities and some early morning clubs.
The After School Timetable can be found in the Parents Section of the website, and is updated at the beginning of the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms.
At the end of last term, Principal Mrs Strong congratulated some budding young writers and rewarded each of them with a certificate and shopping vouchers for their entries to a Creative Writing Competition.
Before the summer holiday, Miss Hemsley invited students to produce a short story on the theme of “space” with the chance to win a prize. Mrs Strong was very impressed with the short stories and poems, and you can now read them yourselves by clicking on the Downloads below. We hope they inspire more children to get writing!
If you are keen to improve your creative writing, why not come along to our Creative Writing Club on Tuesdays after school (in EF03 with Miss Hemsley).

On Tuesday 25 February – as part of the School Immunisation Service – NHS nurses will be administering the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to Year 9 girls (2nd dose) and to Year 8 girls and boys (first dose). This is the first year that the HPV vaccine has been offered to boys in Year 8.
Having the HPV vaccine helps protect both boys and girls from HPV related cancers – please read the leaflet and parent letter in the links below for more information.
Year 8 Parents and Carers: Please click on the link below to complete the online consent form. By completing the form, your child will receive two doses of the vaccine which are given in school between 6 and 24 months apart.
Year 9 Parents and Carers: You will have been asked for consent for the HPV vaccine when your daughter was in Year 8. Therefore, there is no need for you to complete the online consent form. If for any reason, there is no record of your parental consent, you will be contacted separately.
Queries: Please contact Miss Lola Henry at The Bulwell Academy in the first instance.
The School Code for the Online Consent Form is NG145952
